Driving Dad’s red truck, the kids and I rounded Driving Dad’s red truck, the kids and I rounded the corner onto our street to a GIANT, orange, brilliant full moon.

All at once, the five of us shouted, “woah!”

When we pulled up the drive, we rolled down our windows and Boston called out,

“Everyone look for wild life!”

At the first bend, we spotted a deer leap into the woods.
At the second bend, we saw my bunny hop from one side of the woods to the other. I call him my bunny because I’m the only one who has seen him whenever I come up the drive…until tonight.

While I was unpacking our Friday Movie Night treats in the kitchen, the kids ran in from the mudroom,

“Mom, it’s the Very Hungry Caterpillar!”

They were right, this caterpillar was absolutely the cousin of Eric Carle’s original muse.

We came back inside (eventually) in a Mary Oliver-like state of awe.

Overtures of gratitude were expressed in “I love you’s’ and best night ever’s,” on repeat.

It’s simple really –
a call to pay attention,
a deer,
a bunny,
and a very hungry caterpillar –
cups running over.
Every morning, before the sun’s fully up, I drop Every morning, before the sun’s fully up, I drop my kids at the bus stop. This bus stop is down an old country lane next to a cemetery.

Picture a low foggy mist, headstones, and what looks like an abandoned swing set just over the lane. It’s a little spooky.

But, there’s also this sunrise out to the east just over the trees, and it’s a little magical.

Every. Single. Morning.
My boys!
Annual trip to Hilton Head to see Boston’s best Washington buddy.

We are sooo grateful to Brogan’s family for letting Boss tag along on their Hilton Head vacation for the 2nd year in a row.

This also made for the perfect Isaac/Mama trip. I booked us a fun hotel, and am following his plan.
Which so far was…
Dinner at Five Guys,
Grocery store run for snacks,
Treat tasting,
Rest,
Beach and Pool at night,
Stay up till midnight. 🥰

Tomorrow on our list is the morning activity for the hotel, bookstore browsing (he loves it too), and driving home.

Love all three of these boys so SO much.

(anyone? 😏) and attended my first Debutante Ball.

The evening was filled with great friends, new friends, good food, lots of dancing, and a little cow bell. 😉

Dane and I haven’t slow danced outside of our kitchen in at least a decade, and I could have danced with him for another few hours (minus my 4 inch heels 🤪).

My @danabrookexo did such a great job with her beautiful debs, and Dana, @sarahbelle2106, and the rest of the Cotillion Board worked hard to give everyone such a perfect night.
Thank you for letting us tag along! Love y’all big!
Sooo…2023 was going to look like me making big m Sooo…2023 was going to look like me making big moves with @tellherco and my career. I had my passport ready and travel plans made for Australia, New Zealand, La, D.C., and more, and I was so excited to do this thing I love with a community I love, working for this poet (@hello_azureantoinette ) I love.

But, there are only a couple things I love as much and more than everything on that list -
My family & my writing.
Both of which have taken a big hit over the last year. So, I did something really hard and I took a step back.

Watching AA take the stage and kill it at every event makes me wish I could be there. I would have learned so much getting to witness, up close, all the magic that @emmaisaacs has created with @businesschicks, and I would have had so much fun working with my favorite people (looking at you @cgray0902) and bringing along the @tellherco community I love so dearly.

But, since taking a step back, I’ve felt peace.
Undeniable peace.
The kind that comes when you know you’re exactly where you’re meant to be, doing exactly what you’re meant to be doing… at least for now.

When I call Azure I can almost guarantee she’s in an airport or on a plane. When she calls me it’s this picture right here - Sitting in the front seat of my car, babies in the back, with a notebook and laptop in the passenger seat beside me.

Maybe Australia, @tellherevents and other crazy plans with Azure are in my future, but for now it’s moming & writing from the front seat of this car.

Thank you for the ride, AA.
Love you all the way to Zion and back.

PS I’ve got a room with your and Em’s name on it whenever you’re ready! 🖤

𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 is a hard month for s 𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 is a hard month for so many. For most of my family and friends, January is still winter weather minus all the holidays that give the cold weather some charm. But come January — we’re over it.

However, I like having my birthday in January. The cold weather and lack of to do lists slow my busy energy and force me to still my mind and body.

I like that I enter a new age in the same month we collectively enter a new year.

This year, I feel less interested in the new and more intrigued by what is already
